How To Store Windscreen Repair Resin
Delta Windscreen repair resin has a extremely long shelf life if is it stored correctly.
Our windscreen repair resin is supplied in a bronze shaded glass eye dropper to protect it from the sun. The eye dropper is also glass and has a pink rubber boot on the end that you pinch to extract resin from the bottle. It is critical that you totally empty the eye dropper of resin after each use. If you do not totally empty the eye dropper the acids contained in the resin will melt the rubber boot rendering the eyedropper useless. In some cases it can turn the resin a slight shade of pink. From our tests even if this happens the resin is fine to use, however its best to follow these instructions to avoid this.
Windscreen resin must be stored in a cool dark place away from sunlight, direct UV light will cure resin even in the bottle. When storing resin in your Delta Kits Tool Box place the resin in the top tray provided and face the tray in the direction where the resin is closest to the front of the tool box. This prevents the tool box lid from crushing down on the resin eye dropper and damaging it.
We have had some questions regarding the black plastic eye droppers we used to supply from Delta Inc. We are no longer stocking these items. Our testing resulted in the glass eye dropper lasting much longer, providing the instructions are followed.
If you have any further questions regarding resin storage please contact us direct, we are happy to assist.
